Common Window Styles
Most windows come in a vsariety of styles below are the most common.

Double hung Windows. Both window sashes move up and down allowing you to determine were the airflow will be.

Casement Windows.  Casement windows hinge on the side and crank out to open. they are a great way to get a lot of airflow into a room.

Awning Windows Awning windows hinge at the top and bush outward at the bottom allowing decent general airflow.

Picture Windows. Picture windows are great for views because they have no frame members to block them. They also are very efficient because they are fixed and do not open allowing possible areas for air to infiltrate.

Hopper Windows Hopper windows hinge at the bottom and tilt in. They work especially well in basements and areas where there is limited room on the exterior of the window.

Sliding Windows  Sliding windows move side to side along a fixed track. they are easy to operate and have very little hardware to wear out.
